Day Centres and Rehabilitation Centres
Day centers are supervised, supported care facilities for seniors experiencing a loss of autonomy. They can serve to provide respite for full-time caregivers, and provide activity and social contact in a broad range of cirmcumstances.
Services include nursing care, footcare, rehabilitation, occupational therapy, workshops, arts and crafts, recreation, special activities and outings.  Unlike community centres, referrals are often required for entry into these facilities.

Institut Universitaire de Geriatrie de Montreal
The day centre at the Alfred-Desrochers Pavilion provides therapy, rehabilitation, prevention and health promotion activities to persons losing their autonomy. Its aim is to enable seniors to continue living at home. Although group activities are the norm at the day centre, certain intervention modalities may be offered on an individual basis.
